A
bookcase filled with your favourite books.
A
comfortable chair to sink into after a hard day's work.
An
attractive dining room suite where your friends join you for an
evening meal.
Luxurious
sofas where you can all relax and chat over coffee.
Furniture
not only has to look good, but also perform a useful function.
Comfortable
seating - look good and feel good
Sofas
and chairs are major items in terms of cost, the amount of use they
will receive, and the impact they will have in your room.
There
is a wide range of upholstery fabrics to choose from, so don't assume
you have to buy your sofas and chairs already upholstered. Manufacturers
of quality furniture are always willing to use 'customer's own material'.
This enables you to have absolute control over the look and feel
of your home.

Useful
hints
Take
your time
You need time to judge if seating is comfortable. Sit down
for as long as you can - 20 minutes if possible.
New
for old
If your existing furniture is good quality, it may be more
economical to have it reupholstered. That way you can have
perfect furniture for between a half and two thirds the cost
of new.
Buyer
beware
Quality furniture can rarely be bought at bargain prices.
A good frame takes time to construct; fully sprung seating
needs a lot of springs; fire retardant foam can be expensive.

Bring
interest and character into your room with occasional furniture
Coffee
tables in front of your sofas and chairs give space for refreshments
and magazines.
Sofa
tables placed by the walls or behind sofas will allow room for family
photos, plants or vases of flowers.
Nests
of tables enable you to provide extra space for drinks when unexpected
guests arrive.
