Do
you supply soft furnishings by mail order?
No,
we only supply to customers we can meet and then carry out the work
in their home. There are many issues to be discussed and decisions
to be made which make it impractical to undertake any work without
meeting the customer face to face.
How
do you go about furnishing someone's room or home?
Customers
normally visit our showrooms and tell us what they want. We them
show them samples, illustrations and sketches, and try to understand
the effect they are trying to achieve. We visit their home, examine
the location for the proposed work, make practical suggestions and
take any necessary measurements. Once we have agreed on fabrics,
finishes and so on, we submit estimates. When these are accepted,
we order the materials and schedule the work. For items such as
curtains, we visit the home to fit any boards, rails or poles which
may be needed, and once these are in position we take finished measurements.
Once the furnishings have been completed in our workrooms, we deliver
and fit them.
How
far are you prepared to travel to meet customers?
The
majority of our work is within driving distance of Malvern, Worcestershire,
UK, most within a radius of about 60 miles. We usually have ongoing
work in London, and we have travelled to Guernsey, France, Norway
and USA for some customers. These contracts have of necessity been
more expensive due to the travel and time costs involved.
Do
you stock the fabrics you sell?
No.
We hold over 400 books, together with over 100 separate fabric samples.
With an average book containing about 50 variations of the fabric,
that is an enormous amount of fabric to try and stock. (Even our
suppliers don't always have enough in their warehouses!) So if you
are interested in a fabric and request a quotation, we first make
sure our suppliers have enough in stock, and if so we reserve the
amount you need. If they don't have enough, we try and find out
when they are expecting new deliveries.
I
would like to order some fabric from you, but I live outside the
UK. Will I have to pay any taxes?
If
you live within the EEC then you will be charged the selling price
including the UK Value Added Tax rate, currently at 17.5%. For countries
outside the EEC you will need to contact your local tax office and
ask them about any taxes on goods imported from the United Kingdom.
We charge you the UK price excluding our own Value Added Tax. Also
check with us about shipping costs as these can often be significant
when shipping outside the UK.
There
is a particular fabric I want to buy. I know the manufacturer and
the fabric details. Can you supply it?
Send
us the details together with the quantity you want, and if we have
an account with the company we will be able to quote you a price
and expected delivery time.
Can
I be sure my personal information will be kept private?
All
information sent to us is kept only for our own use. We do not give
or sell the information to any third parties. We have no links or
affiliations with any other companies.
